Meet the Associate: Genevieve Smyth

Genevieve is Lead Remote Staff Accountant for Convergent Accounting. She is a QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor and Bill.com Certified Advisor. Genevieve lives in Enosburgh, Vermont with her family and following is a recent Q&A with her:

What is your degree and minor?
Economics, with a self-designed minor in Water Resources. I wrote a thesis titled “A Market
for Water Transfers in the Upper Colorado River Basin and the Role of Transaction Costs”.

Where did you graduate from?
I graduated from the University of Vermont.

What professional organizations are you part of?
The Institute of Management Accountants.

What can you be found doing when not working?
Gardening, raising livestock, hanging out with my kids (I have a three year old and a seven
month old), and reading detective novels.

Before working at DHCPA/Convergent Accounting what was the most interesting job you held?
I worked for several years as an EMT at ambulance services in Vermont.

If you could pick any superpower to have, what would it be?
To speak and understand every language.

What is something on your bucket list?
When I retire, I want to move to the English countryside.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would love to learn how to scuba dive.

What kind of music is on your phone?
It’s almost exclusively Taylor Swift.
