Mercy Connections Names New Executive Director

John Bossange, Chair of the Mercy Connections Board of Directors, announced today that Lisa Falcone has been selected as the fourth Executive Director of Mercy Connections. In a statement to supporters, volunteers, and other members of the Board, Bossange said, “The Board of Directors engaged in an extensive search and met with several very qualified candidates for the role of Executive Director for Mercy Connections. Lisa Falcone emerged as our top choice. She brings experience, wisdom, and an understanding of the mission of Mercy Connections.”

Falcone comes to Mercy Connections from United Way of Northwest Vermont, where she currently serves as the Working Bridges Director. She is also a founder and senior advisor of WorkLab Innovations, a start-up organization that is supporting communities across the country as they replicate and build sustainable workplace practices through employer networks. Falcone spent many previous years working in higher education and business/industry workforce development. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maine, and a Master of Arts from Bowling Green State University. Falcone and her husband Tristram Coffin have three children–Sam and Emily are in college and Nate is a senior at Champlain Valley Union High School.

“I am thrilled and humbled to be joining the Mercy Connections team as Executive Director,” Falcone said. “For a long time, I have admired the excellent staff, and of course the Sisters of Mercy, who have been on the forefront of social innovation and impact.,” She went on to say, “Mercy Connections has helped many, many citizens find their confidence, purpose and place in our community.  It is my honor to be a part of this important work and vital organization moving forward.”

According to Board Chair Bossange, “The Board is thrilled to have Lisa as our new Executive Director. She will carry and build upon the legacy of Mercy Connections into the years ahead.”

Regarding the transition, current Executive Director Dolly Fleming commented, ”I couldn’t be more relieved and excited to know that Lisa Falcone will become the next Executive Director. I have immense respect and admiration for this very fine professional.”

Fleming is set to retire on June 30, 2018, after a 45-year career in human services. Falcone will formally begin her role as Executive Director on July 1, 2018.
