Holiday Spending Clean-Up Tips

The Financial Aftermath of Holiday Spending

Making a budget for the holiday season is a great step to control spending, but sticking to that budget can be the real test. If you are one of the many people who spent more than expected this year, we have some tips that can help you act swiftly with cleaning up the financial mess.

1. Add up your bills & assess the damage

2. Set up a payment schedule (You may want to start with the department store cards, because they usually have the most harsh terms and conditions)

3. Temporarily freeze your spending and use that money to pay off credit card debt

4. Plan ahead for next year! One way to do this is to set up a “Holiday Savings Account” and start putting money in it every month.
