The Upside of Tax Season: Local VT Donations Made
* Williston CPA firm donates $1,200 by inspiring clients to complete satisfaction surveys and pick up their tax returns.
“Our clients made it easy to give $1,200 to local charities,” said Managing Partner John Davis of Davis & Hodgdon CPAs. “Each year, following tax season, we include a satisfaction survey with each client’s completed tax return,” shared Davis, “for each completed survey returned to us, our firm donates $5 to a local charity.” In addition, another $5 is donated by the firm on behalf of every client that opts to pick up their tax return upon completion rather than having it mailed directly to them.
As a result of these combined efforts, the firm was able to give a total of $1,200 to the following local organizations: Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont, Dress for Success Burlington, Vermont Foodbank, Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, the Special Olympics local chapter and the Honduras Rehab Project.
“The tax work we do for our clients offers us a wonderful opportunity to mix business with the pleasure of helping fellow Vermonters and their charities”, continued Davis, “We have been doing this for several years now and our clients, well aware of our initiative, are most happy to be an important part of this positive side aspect of our work.”
This year’s donation was among the highest since the inception of this program. Davis & Hodgdon CPAs is located in Williston and is a leader in providing consulting services to Vermont’s entrepreneurs. The firm was recently cited for its energy-efficient workplace and dedication to protecting the environment and community in which it does business.
