Is Vermont a high-taxed state?  According to information gathered and graphed by Art Woolf, Associate Professor of Economics at UVM, yes, compared to most, it is.

According to Woolf, “If Vermont’s state and town governments taxed at the same rate as the average state, taxpayers would save $435 million. The question Vermonters need think about is whether we’re getting $435 million more of benefits from that extra expenditure.
