D&H Partner Ryan Black-Deegan Appointed to AICPA Council

The Davis & Hodgdon Advisory Group is pleased to announce that Audit Partner Ryan Black-Deegan, CPA has been appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Governing Council, as one of two representatives for the state of Vermont.
The AICPA Governing Council is the primary legislative body of the AICPA, determining institute programs, establishing general policies, and setting professional standards. It is comprised of 265 members representing every state and U.S. territory. Members are appointed to represent their respective states, as well as the profession as a whole. In Vermont, appointments and nominations are coordinated closely with the Vermont Society of CPAs (VT CPA).
Ryan joined Davis & Hodgdon CPAs in 2016. His expertise includes tax return preparation, advisory services, as well as audits and other attestation engagements for a variety of the firm’s not‐for‐profit and corporate clients.
Ryan was recognized by Forbes magazine as one of America’s best CPAs in Vermont for 2026. He is a board member and Chair of the Vermont Society of CPAs, and treasurer and member of the Executive Committee for Generator Makerspace. Ryan is also a board member and member of the Executive Committee for Burlington City Arts Foundation. He is a graduate of the Leadership Champlain Class of 2020, and he was celebrated as one of Vermont Business Magazine’s class of 2023 “Rising Stars” comprising 40 up-and-coming leaders under 40.
