Dentistry Challenge: Patient Barriers to Care

There are challenges in every industry and dentistry is no exception.

Patient Barriers to Care

Whether your practice is in a rural area or a metropolitan area, it is likely that new patients occasionally come in with many oral problems. Although they may have income restraints towards receiving the necessary care, proper education could likely have prevented most of their problems. As a professional, this problem may worry you, but you may have little to offer the patients who suffer from these restraints. However, you can take a proactive approach and educate the children in these situations.

Proper education does not need to be a difficult or time consuming activity. There are several ways to inform people, whether talking with an elementary school class occasionally, or simply have a television in the waiting room that plays a video on oral care. Taking a proactive approach can mean the difference in the long run.
