Professional Staff John W. Davis, CPA, CFP, PFS, CVA – (Extension 12, E-mail Address: johnd@dh-cpa.com) has over 22 years of public accounting experience. In 1990, John founded John Davis and Associates, CPA's. John has successfully completed the certification process with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) and earned the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). John has also been awarded the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation by the AICPA and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) from the IAFP. John focuses in the areas of strategic planning for family businesses, business sales and acquisitions, alternative sources of financing, and business valuations. He is also involved with the financial and estate planning for individuals. John serves as Board Treasurer for the Associates in Physical Occupational Therapy and is a member of the South Burlington Rotary.
Bret L. Hodgdon, CPA, CFP – (Extension 16, E-mail address: breth@dh-cpa.com) Bret was admitted as Partner in January 2005 and now leads the Audit and Accounting Department for the firm. Bret earned the title of Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 2007. His ownership and commitment to the firm’s future is represented with the decision in 2006 to change the firm’s name after 16 years to include Hodgdon in the marquee. Bret is a graduate of Lyndon State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Business Administration. Since 1998 he has worked with a variety of clients providing audit, tax and consulting services in a number of specialized areas such as non-profit organizations, the construction industry and wholesale/retail. Bret resides in Jericho with his wife Nicole, his daughter Grace and their dog Callie. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and tennis. Bret is an avid sports fan who lives and dies with the Boston Red Sox.
David Brace– (Extension 30, E-mail address: david@dh-cpa.com) David is a graduate of Champlain College with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Associates Degree in Management; and he is currently working towards his M.B.A. David has over two years of combined private/public accounting experience and is planning to sit for the CPA exam in 2007. David resides in Fairfax with his wife Jennifer and their son Aiden. David enjoys spending time with his son and volunteering in the community.
Dan Huskes– (Extension 31, E-mail address: daniel@dh-cpa.com) Dan graduated from Coastal Carolina University. He went on to earn a B.S.B.A. with a concentration in accounting. Dan was recognized with several accounting awards including two South Carolina Association of CPA scholarships. He has recently passed the CPA exams and is now fulfilling his experience requirement. Dan lives in Barre with his dog Dexter where they go running and watch the New York Football Giants and the Red Sox devoutly.
Dawn G. Grenn, CPA – (Extension 18, E-mail address: dawn@dh-cpa.com) Dawn has over 20 years of public accounting experience primarily in the tax and consulting area. She recently relocated to Vermont from New Orleans, Louisiana where she was a member in the firm of Freedman & Grenn LLC which offered comprehensive tax and consulting services. She is a member of the AICPA and the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is licensed in Lousiana and Vermont. As a resident of Essex, she enjoys hiking with her husband and two daughters.
Robert Barush (Extension 28, E-mail: robert@dh-cpa.com) Rob is a graduate of St. Michael's College where he earned a double major in Accounting and Business Administration with a minor in Finance. He is currently preparing for the CPA exam. Rob resides in Essex and enjoys golf, snowboarding and various other outdoor activities. He is a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves as well as the Boston Red Sox.
Matthew Cleare (Extension 33, E-mail: matthew@dh-cpa.com) Matthew Cleare has joined Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs as a Staff Accountant. Matt is a graduate of Champlain College with a Bachelors Degree in Business and a concentration in Accounting. While attending Champlain he was selected to be a peer tutor in math and accounting. He has previously worked as a Supervisor at a busy downtown business in Burlington. Matt works with a variety of clients providing tax, audit and consulting services and is currently preparing for the CPA exam. Matt is originally from Western Massachusetts. In his free time he enjoys hiking and camping.
Samuel Boyer (Extension 14, E-mail: samuel@dh-cpa.com) Sam Boyer has joined Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs as an Associate Accountant. Sam is a graduate of Western New England College, where he earned a B.S.B.A. with a concentration in Accounting. He currently resides in Burlington and is working toward an M.B.A. at the University of Vermont. He is also in the process of preparing for the CPA Exam. He has worked in the banking industry and spent several years as a ski instructor. In his spare time, Sam enjoys skiing and watching the Red Sox.
Miran Gosto (Extension 15, E-mail: mgosto@dh-cpa.com) Miran is currently a student at the Community College of Vermont (CCV) working towards an Associate degree in Business with the goal of earning his Bachelor's degree in International Business. He is a graduate of Essex High School and the Center for Technology - Business Academy I and II. While at the Center for Technology, Miran interned at local financial and accounting firms. He enjoys music and various athletic activities.

Arlene F. Krapcho – (Extension 18, E-Mail address: retire@dh-cpa.com) has worked with qualified retirement plans for more than 20 years. She is currently the senior consultant and retirement plan administrator. Arlene specializes in profit sharing, 401(k) and other defined contribution programs, combining detailed knowledge of DOL/IRS rules and regulations with extensive expertise in all phases of administrative process. She also has substantial experience reviewing existing plans to determine if modifications should be considered to maximize the potential tax deferral for each employer. Her current program list includes both for profit and non-profit employers, with clients located in Vermont, Connecticut, and New York. Arlene’s hobbies include reading, playing bridge and enjoying her extended family.

Kathryn C. Baccaglini (Extension 11, E-mail: kathryn@dh-cpa.com) Kathryn C. Baccaglini is our Firm Administrator. With several years of Business Management experience, she brings her knowledge in the areas of human resources, contract and facilities management, SBA certifications, and marketing to the Firm. She is responsible for daily office operations, as well as finance, personnel, and network operations. She is a graduate of Elon University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and currently resides in Essex with her husband and their dogs, Elvis and Zoë.
Laura Bushey – (Extension 19, E-mail address: admin@dh-cpa.com)Laura is our firm’s Executive Assistant, bringing over 9 years experience in customer service, finance and administrative background. As the Collections and Billing Manager, she is responsible for handling client billing and receivables. She assists in tax return and financial statement processing, client mailings and a variety of other administrative tasks. Laura resides in Georgia with husband Bruce and son Chris.
Anna Perreault – (Extension 10, E-mail address: anna@dh-cpa.com)Anna is our firm’s Administrative Assistant, bringing a vast administrative and retail background. She handles the reception, scheduling and front desk area for our firm as well as assisting in tax return processing, client mailings and a number of other administrative tasks. She also assists as our JDA Financial Services coordinator. Anna’s prior experience includes customer relations and managing a family bridal business for over 20 years. She resides in Colchester with her husband Rick and two sons Matthew and Derrick. Anna enjoys gourmet cooking, skiing and boating on beautiful Lake Champlain.
